  • The Uruli Box.

    The 2 part piece forged from pure copper sheet metal contains the base bowl or the uruli and a concave copper lid or the dhakkan, that fit ceremoniously on top the bowl. The bowl, lacquered is meant to keep object of personal value, great devotion within its confines and the top lid allowing other items to be presented atop, as a tray, series of tray can be place one after the other to elegantly present works of art or decoration.

  • The Chand Uruli

  • An addition to the base Uruli box is the stone plate to give it its characteristic Chand or Moon identity. The plate can be placed in two main dispositions

    The first: The plate is placed at the bottom and the serving box atop, allowing the

  • The second: The plate is placed inbetween the box and the lid, where the groove for the lid is used, allowing the

  • The Chand Stambha

  • The stacking of the boxes to form an ornate monolothic pillar that allows a person to create a stambha.

    As in the Chand orientation the Stambha can be made of up to 3 boxes allowing a striking definition of the piece, positioning it all edges of the on side table, or on the center of the low table to allow to command its space, yet not interfere in the positioning.

    Series of stambas of varying heights can be placed near to each other to add additonal visual characted to a place.

  • The Trini Chand.

  • The polishing and finishing stage brings out the natural beauty of the granite, giving the sculpture its final, radiant glow. This process is meticulous and requires patience, as the artisans gradually refine the surface, starting with coarse abrasives and progressing to finer ones. The goal is to achieve a smooth and reflective finish that highlights the stone's inherent patterns and colors.

  • The Grahanam Chand

  • The Grahanam or the eclipse is is created with two stone plates which sandwhich the uruli box and the lid is placed on top there by, balancing the light and darkness, with suble peeks of copper showcasing at different places.
