Tambat craft traces its origins to the Maratha period, around the 17th century, when Pune emerged as a prominent cultural and political center. The Tambat community, primarily composed of artisans skilled in copper work, played a crucial role in supplying the royal court and temples with intricately designed copper utensils, ornaments, and ritualistic objects.
